GTrans enjoys “An Afternoon in the Park” for Black History Month

The City of Gardena celebrated Black History Month by hosting a fun, free “An Afternoon in the Park” event – and everyone was invited!

Thousands of South Bay residents, family and friends gathered at Rowley Park on Saturday, February 28th from 10:00am to 3:00pm for a day full of food trucks, entertainment, arts and crafts, vendor booths and a children’s play area. Admission to the event was FREE, with vendors charging separately for their goods.

GTrans played a big part in the event, with many staff members attending the festivities, and lots of people riding our Line 2 buses to S. Western Ave. and W. 135th St., which was a short walk to the park.

To everyone who came this year, thanks for joining us! And to everybody else, we hope to see you next time!
