Overview
The PATH (Planning a Transit Horizon) Project represents GTrans’ commitment to shaping the future of local and regional mobility. The study focuses on creating a transit system that is more connected, efficient, and inclusive for everyone who lives, works, and travels throughout the region.
Through this effort, GTrans is evaluating ways to improve access to jobs, schools, and key destinations; strengthen connection with nearby transit systems; and prepare for future growth and major regional events such as the 2027 Super Bowl, and 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The project team closely reviewed current routes, schedules, and service performance to identify opportunities to improve transit service. Feedback was also collected from riders to hear their priorities for how transit could better connect them to the places they travel. With this information, the project team has developed service improvement options that we would like to share from you and hear your thoughts.
The goal of The PATH Project is to build a modern, sustainable, and community-driven transit network that enhances mobility and quality of life well into the future.
What We’re Working Toward (Project Goals)
Understand today’s transit needs: Analyze how travel patterns have shifted since the pandemic to provide service that is safe, reliable, and meets riders’ evolving expectations.
Ensure mobility for all: Provide more options for riders in every neighborhood and strengthen connections across the service area throughout L.A. County.
Support sustainability: Build a greener, more efficient transit system that works for everyone.

- Participating in public meetings
- Trying out our interactive Bus Bucks Game and other engagement activities
- Completing Surveys
- Leaving comment cards at pop-up events
- Speaking with staff during transit intercept outreach at bus stops

We held our Phase I In-Person Town Hall on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026 at Nakaoka Community Center.
