Line 7X Service Update: Game Day Sundays
Line 7X Will Transition to NFL Game Day Sunday Service Only
GTrans is updating Line 7X service between Harbor Gateway Transit Center and SoFi Stadium to better align service with customer demand at the stadium.
Starting September 13, beginning with the 2026–2027 NFL season, Line 7X will operate on Sundays when an NFL game is scheduled at SoFi Stadium, instead of operating every Sunday year-round. The service change was approved by the Gardena City Council on August 25, 2026, following a public outreach and comment period.
Line 7X will remain open to the general public, and regular GTrans fares will continue to apply.

Please note: Exact Line 7X operating times will vary based on each game’s scheduled start time. Service will generally begin approximately three hours before the game and continue for approximately 1.5 hours after the game ends.
Why Is Line 7X Changing?
Line 7X ridership is closely connected to events at SoFi Stadium. NFL game days generate significantly higher demand for the service than Sundays when there is no game.
The new game-day schedule allows GTrans to better match service with customer demand while making more effective use of available operating resources. Customers will continue to have a public transportation option between Harbor Gateway Transit Center and SoFi Stadium when demand for stadium service is highest.
When Will Line 7X Operate?
Line 7X will operate on eligible Sunday NFL game days from September through February.
Service will be scheduled around the game:
Before the Game
Service begins approximately 3 hours before kickoff
After the Game
Service continues approximately 1.5 hours after the game ends
Because game times vary, Line 7X’s operating schedule will vary by game day.
What About Monday and Thursday NFL Games?
At this time, the approved service change applies to Sunday NFL game days only.
GTrans evaluated the potential for additional service on Monday and Thursday NFL game days. However, weekday game-day service is not included in the current service change due to existing peak-period service demands, school-related service, and staffing considerations.
Fares
Regular GTrans fares will continue to apply to Line 7X.
Line 7X will remain a public transit service available to all customers.

Public Outreach and City Council Approval
GTrans conducted public outreach on the proposed Adjustments to Line 7X Service from June 30 through July 27, 2026. The public was invited to provide feedback through community meetings, a formal public hearing, the GTrans website, and email.
Following the public outreach process, the proposed service modification was presented to the Gardena City Council, which approved the transition of Line 7X from all-Sunday service to Sunday NFL game-day service on August 25, 2026.
